April 24 marks the Day of Remembrance for the Armenian Genocide—a tragic chapter in our history that began in the Ottoman Empire, targeting the native Armenian population and, more broadly, the Christian communities of the empire. While many associate the genocide with the year 1915, its roots extend decades earlier, and the violence continued even after the end of the First World War.
The consequences were devastating—not only for Armenians but for the very survival of Armenia itself.
I could write volumes, but I’ll leave you with this: Teach your children about this history. Not to pass on a sense of victimhood, but to cultivate understanding, resilience, and the wisdom to prevent such darkness from ever repeating.
